What you will learn and prerequisites

Read first: Market structure comes first

There is no single universal Asian or European session for every product. Define windows and time zones, then compare what was known at each cutoff. The concept is sequential evidence, not a rule that one region must confirm another.

Understand the mechanism

A later window can continue, reject or remain inside the earlier range. Several correlated markets responding to the same news are not necessarily independent confirmations. Currency and sector differences can explain legitimate divergence.

Walk through the process

Fix the completed Asian range, then mark Europe's developing structure separately. Record persistence outside rather than just a touch. At the U.S. open, update again; overnight direction is not a guarantee of cash-session continuation.

Pause before deciding

Describe what the example actually establishes and what remains unknown. A technical observation supplies context, not an automatic options entry. Contract cost, horizon, liquidity and the consequence of failure still need to match the thesis. Record the contrary branch so a named pattern cannot become an excuse to ignore new evidence.

A worked example

Asia trades 100–102. Europe reaches 103 then holds 102.50–103.20 in one branch. In another it returns to 101.50. The first higher print is identical, but the subsequent response differs. The graph shows one branch, not a forecast.

What would invalidate the reading?

Using stale regional data or the wrong daylight-saving window can create apparent confirmation that was unavailable in real time. Thin activity also can exaggerate an early move.

Check your understanding

Try the question before revealing its answer. These are reading checks, not trading certification or a site completion record.

What is stronger evidence than one print above the Asian high?

Reveal the worked answer

A declared period of acceptance or activity beyond it.

The first print occurs in both continuation and failure branches.

Critical risk question

What is the critical failure to avoid?

Reveal the worked answer

Using stale regional data or the wrong daylight-saving window can create apparent confirmation that was unavailable in real time. Thin activity also can exaggerate an early move.

Explain this risk before treating the example as a decision rule. A correct calculation does not guarantee a favorable market outcome.

Takeaway

Return to the question: How does the next active window respond to the previous one? State the observed facts, the assumptions and the failure condition separately.
